For several years now, the best awards and accolades have fallen on the side of the Spaniards who exhibit and exhibit there, as for the stands because I would dare to say that the Spanish contribution is also one of the best with the main professionals of our country, I mean by this that Spain, for some years now , is spearhead not only here but in the rest of the most relevant exhibitions of the European panorama, having said all this you will wonder what all this has to do with the AEB (Spanish Bonsai Association), well much and nothing depending on how you look at it, but I will try to clarify it in the best possible way.
Being in my stand, accompanied by a colleague I approached the Vice President of the EBA (European Bonsai Association) to whom I did not have the pleasure of knowing and after the relevant presentations without further delay I wonder " you know that it has been of the Spanish Association of Bonsai " " for several years now that they do not attend our meetings , who do not respond to our letters, that we know do not hold either their old congresses or the contests of new talents "so do you know what they are dedicated to? " "We think that Spain one of the European countries, but the one that more, that best and greatest awards and accolades receives, with a very high evolution in recent years at all levels and we do not understand how it can not be represented by an important association as in its day was the AEB "we do not know what has happened".
I would like to highlight that for many years although through the Valencian Association of Bonsai I am an indirect partner in the AEB and although I have always met its leaders or managers, either by proximity or by mere sporadic relations, I have not always agreed in their approaches or in their ways of acting , rather the opposite, but I must recognize that at the time they fulfilled a mission and with a minimum program and organization, which with the passage of time was becoming a little obsolete and not in accordance with the important evolution that both amateurs and professionals of the subject were acquiring in our country.
It is here that I return to some questions and unknowns, "what was from the AEB?" " because the answer is simple, neither this nor the expected, I could not know for sure how many years ago they have not held the National Congress, nor how long they have not held the relevant Assemblies, how long they have not presented their statements of accounts , in short that the AEB has practically disappeared, if I know that coinciding with the European Congress of Lorca there were bonsai people who were willing to take the reins of an AEB that was already beginning to agonize but that was not to the liking of its then leaders, they were closed the way to people truly interested and involved in the Spanish bonsai with the desire to renew and manage a Spanish Association and that evolved according to as times went by, but no, it was not possible, however the same leaders who denied the greatest to recognized and competent people opened wide the door to a president and a board inexperienced and in my view incompetent (this has been demonstrated with the passage of time) that I believe did not intend anything more than a continuity of what already exists , a way to leave the poltrona but without leaving it, a dolphin that in the end has turned out to be a shark.
The beginnings of its current president were hopeful, he even began to edit a magazine and a new website, but nothing could be further from the truth, all fireworks, good intentions gave way to accommodation and sloppiness, even to bad relations within the board of directors itself, one of his former leaders was departing with me a few days ago , I have known him for many years and when I conveyed my badness to him because of the comments of the Vice President of the EBA I am perplexed because he confessed to me that he has been about to have his own house seized due to alleged debts outstanding for non-payments of the AEB, I attest that this person is willing to provide the evidence that is necessary if necessary.
Everything is somewhat confusing, dark and not very transparent as to what today is the AEB and its board of directors, of which some of its members that as I have said before I have known for years, are no longer part of the management either because of disagreements or because they have tired, I do know , although not much , to its current president, little more I can say about him, of how little and rather bad that some partners have told me , I to tell the truth I have only seen him on a few occasions to take the picture , that is given to him well , but otherwise he has contributed little to the AEB and its suffering members.
It is not my intention to make blood of the subject, but if denounce and make a criticism that tries to clarify and contribute to have an entity that represents all the amateurs and why not all the professionals, I think that the most interested in putting some light to all this should be those who facilitated the arrival of the current managers because better or worse for many years there were people who worked so hard from the direction as from the base fans so that the Spanish Bonsai Association continued to exist, today uncertainty and obscurantism is what has remained, the sadness and indignation of many who worked selflessly in favor of Bonsai in Spain.
So Mr. Vice-President of the EBA I can only answer you with this letter, I can not contribute more than what I said here, surely I could and possibly would like to bring to light many more unknowns and questions that possibly put us before a harsh reality, before possible illegalities, first of all an endless number of absurdities , but I have neither time nor desire for it, but if I have a request to the President of the AEB and what little can be left of its board of directors: "LEAVE IT GENTLEMEN" leave way to bonsai people wanting our country to have a national association that truly represents us, who want new challenges , we want an association worthy of what is today the Spanish bonsai worldwide, you represent the Bonsai of charanga and tambourine that luckily was already forgotten but that a few want to give continuity.
That said, all this can have A LOT to do with the Spanish Bonsai Association if the professionals, amateurs and involved move tab, they get going and of course it can also have NOTHING to do if there is no answer, if everything remains the same and if in the end everything is in the dark , everything is left for the photo, then gentlemen if everything is in NOTHING is that we have what we deserve, no more and no less.
